A report from the Wingspread Conference, a leadership summit held March 24-26, 2004.  Thirty-two leaders from throughout the United States met at the Johnson Foundation Wingspread Conference Center in Racine, Wisconsin, to develop a consensus and strategy for convening a National Summit on Citizen Diplomacy and identifying the action results that would emerge from that summit. From this conference, the Coalition for Citizen Diplomacy was born.

A report prepared by the national leadership group of the Coalition for Citizen Diplomacy and presented to a representative from the White House during the National Summit on Citizen Diplomacy.   This report details the impact of citizen diplomacy and international exchanges while also laying out the challenges facing the fields.  An action agenda for the future of citizen diplomacy is presented.  The report includes recent statistics on those studying abroad, information on international exchanges, the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), and the Fulbright Program, as well as a list of the 50 Community Summits on Citizen Diplomacy held from 2004 to 2006.
